How’s Your RQ?

Friday, February 29th, 2008

By Ted Segura Youve heard of IQ intelligence quotient, EQ emotional quotient and now RQ. RQ? Yes, relational quotient or relational intelligence. We are social beings and we interact with each other in one way or another. Excepting the hermits who live in solitary isolation, we all do connect with people. Social interaction research shows this. So what is RQ? According to author Brad DeHaven, it is our capacity to connect with one another in a skillful, warm and authentic way. This revolves around being relational beings who are made to enjoy friendship and community with others. The person with a high RQ puts high value on understanding and cultivating those relationships. More than anything else, RQ will determine your overall happiness, the health of your relationship with your spouse or partner and your sense of fulfillment in life. Hows your RQ? Are those around you noticed by you? When you meet your family, the people at the local store or at work, do you greet them with a smile? Do people who you interact with feel that you have understood them, respected them and value them? More importantly, do you show that you value your spouse or partner by giving them utmost attention, understanding and love? So how do we give our relationships the care and attention they deserve? It is by being conscious in making relationships one of the priorities in your life. Its about thinking of the other person instead of yourself. To grow your RQ especially in marriage, you need to be the first to reach out to the other instead of waiting around for your spouse to reach out to you. This will be difficult since it will take you outside your comfort zone. You will even have to get over your pride and take the initiative. Outside your relationship with your spouse or partner, identify key relationships in your life and decide to make a better connection with those who are important to you. Social interaction research shows that they can be relatives or friends, business partners or sports associates. Office mates or association members. Take time to call them, see how they are doing and make that the only reason for the call. Or you can send them a friendly note. You will be surprised and amazed at what a difference these seemingly insignificant connections will make in your relationships. Strengthening relationships with active listening for example, increase over time as you continually connect with others and affirm that you care. Listening to them, building trust, solving problems with them and loving them take time. A great advice on successful marriage relationship is likened to nurturing a growing plant, watering it every day and talking sweet, encouraging words to make it grow. Improving your RQ requires shifting focus from yourself to others. Instead of trying to get what you want, try to find out what others want and help them get or achieve what they want. Understand that people care more about themselves than they care about helping you. Therefore, if you want to have someone be interested in you, be interested in them first. Zig Ziglar says You can have everything in life you want if you will only help enough other people get what they want. As we add value to the lives of others, we in turn develop a vast resource in our relationships. We have a treasure of ideas, information, advice, referrals, support, resources that we can tap into. So invest in securing strong relationships and in a particular way in marriage relationship. This is a perfect advice on successful marriage relationships. We are all designed to love, to learn, to live and leave a legacy. You will get them most significant sense of accomplishment in knowing that you have made a difference in someones life. Remember that your relationship with your spouse or partner is highly important and therefore make him or her feel significant. Add value to his or her life continually. Then your relationship will grow strong, healthy and successful. Ted and Christine Segura have been involved in the topic of relationships and are in an organization that helps couples and families in the areas of family life and enhancing relations. It is best that the regular snacks of crackers and soda be substituted with one that is healthier and nutrition-filled. Instead of eating these stuffs, it will be better to take in cherry tomatoes, yogurt, less fat pudding, or frozen grapes. Detoxification and Your Health: The Bodies 7 Channels of Elimination!

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

By Charles O. Palmerson If you want to be healthy you need to understand the seven systems that the body uses to eliminate waste and toxic matters. When these systems are working effectively the result is good health. When they are compromised all types of complications can result. If you want to understand detoxification you need to have a clear understanding of the bodies channels of elimination. When the body confronts a toxin or foreign substance it uses these channels of elimination to purge the toxin as quickly as possible. They key to excellent health is knowing these 7 channels of elimination like the back of your hand and doing everything possible to keep them functioning optimally. In 1904 a Russian Naturopathic Physician by the name of Eli Metchnikof discovered that the body would recycle any toxin that it was not capable of purging. In the recycling process the body would utilize all 7 channels of elimination to try and get the toxic substance removed from the body. This is important to understand because if your health has been compromised it would stand to reason that one or more of the bodies channels of elimination are not working effectively. Most people cannot even name the bodies seven channels of elimination. If you value your health do everything you can to understand these seven vital cleannsing systems. Liver - The Liver is the bodies factory. It metabolizes food, filters toxins and converts ingredients into substances that are needed in all parts of the body. Your liver is one of the largest and most important organs in your body. The Liver when healthy will store vitamins, sugars, fats and other nutrients from the food that you eat. The Liver builds chemicals that your body needs to stay healthy and breaks down harmful substances, like alcohol and other toxic (poisonous) chemicals. It also removes waste products from your blood and makes sure that your body has just the right amount of other chemicals that it needs. Learn about the Liver by picking up a basic book on health and supplement accordingly. Lungs - Your LUNGS rae in charge of breathing so you better take care of them. The best way to take care of the lungs is to give them lots of exercise. The best way to keep your lungs healthy is not to smoke. Smoking isn’t good for any part of your body, and your lungs especially hate it. Deep breathing of fresh air is the best exercise for the LUNGS. Spend 15 minutes each day doing deep breathing exercises. Lymphatic System - Regular exercise is the best treatment that your lymphatic system can receive. The Lymphatic is the bodies filter system which supports immune function. A healthy lymphatic system filters out bacteria and other foreign particles. A natural herb by the name of arabanogalactan is a natural cleanser of the lymphatic system. Blood - The blood is a liquid organ which transfers and transports substances throughout the body. It is what delivers the needed nutrition to those areas that are in need. Red Clover and Chlorella are wonderful natural cleansers of the blood system. A regular exercise routine stimulates the blood system and assists the body in eliminating waste. Skin - The Skin is the bodies largest organ. By sweating naturally you assist in cleansing the skin and keeping it elastic and healthy. Going to a Sauna and sweating is a wonderful health regimen for the skin. Colon - The colon is vital to effective health because it serves the function of transporting waste out of the body. Hydration of the digestion system will improve Colon Health. This can be done by drinking an equivalent number of ounces of water to your body weight every day. Also, hydrating the colon through Colon Hydrotherapy has proven to be very beneficial to re-etablishing health. Kidneys - Your chances of developing a kidney stone in your lifetime are 1 in 10? In 1995, more than 3 million people in the United States had some type of kidney condition such as an infection, kidney stones or cancer. More than 300,000 people suffer from renal failure each year and undergo dialysis or await a kidney transplant. The kidneys produce urine which is the waste in the body. Often kidney problems are the result of dehydration. A natural supplement that cleanses and provides needed nutrition for the kidneys is Corn Silk. If you want to understand good health you ned to understand these seven channels of elimnation. I urge you to understand these seven channels of elimination and do everything possible to assist them in your pursuit of excellent health. Charles O. The Way, The Truth and The Life - pt.1

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

By Anthony Smith I have seen, Flood, and I have seen Drought. I have seen, the Naked and and the Poor, the Wealthy and the Famous. I have seen, Death and Resurrection, Tidal Waves and Volcanoes. I have felt, Heat and Great Despair. I have experienced, Loneness and Disappointment. I have been in, Days of no end. I have noted, the Earth Quaking and the Tears of Grief. I know of Pain, as a Hundred Needles Piercing my Heart. I have Preached, to the Jews and the Gentiles, and have been, Rejected for Telling the Truth, And because I told you the truth, you believed me not.I am a man, of all Countries and Nations, but can not find a Home on Earth. I know of, Wars and Rumors of Wars, wars that men know nothing of. I have been, a Light in a Dark World. I know the Past, the Present, and the Future. I have been, Beaten, Cursed and Hung between Heaven and earth. I have been, Buried, Guarded, Preached to the Dead and Returned as Lord and Christ. I have no Boundaries nor Limitations, I Am that I Am. I have come to, Strengthen the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. I am, The Way, The Truth and The Life. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. I am the way. To access God directly, we must first believe in His Son. Many religions keep God in a bottle, or a box, refusing anyone except a select few to access the wonder that is God. These men, are men of little understanding of God and Scripture. John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Jesus is the way, the way to God and the Way to Salvation. We cannot be held back nor denied access to God by any man nor religion. We have access to God thru Jesus, the Door and the Key, to the Almighty. Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, have you not been with Christ enough to know who He is? Isa 1:11-15; To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.(The Sacrifice of the physical will not render you an opening to my Glory.) When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts? (What People, Religion or Priest has told you to come to me in this manner.)Bring no more vain oblations(Any thing offered or presented in worship or sacred service; an offering; a sacrifice.); incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.(I will no longer abide with your religious days, holidays nor meetings. The way of the past is shut, the door is closed and the way is changed. You have made a shambles of your dedication to Me and I will no longer hear you.) And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. (The Blood of the Prophets of God. The rejection of the New and obedience to the Old. Being guilty of one part of the Law has made you guilty of all the Law.) Isa 35:8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. and a way I am is the Way, Jesus is the way of holiness. His name is Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. He is the only way to God, for God has declared it, a solemn vow, His word becoming flesh. Psa 2:7-8 ; I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Begotten, to bring forth, beget; denotes the physical relation of either parent to a child, Gen_3:16; Gen_4:18): Used metaphorically of God’s relation to Israel (Deu_32:18) and to the Messianic king (Psa_2:7). Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. This physical relationship between God and Jesus is a relationship between Father and Son, parent to child, and everlasting covenant between God and Man. Mat 11:3-6; And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me. I Am the Way. end pt 1. ars Joh 14:6 - I am: Joh_10:9; Isa_35:8, Isa_35:9; Mat_11:27; Act_4:12; Rom_5:2; Eph_2:18; Heb_7:25; Heb_9:8, Heb_10:19-22; 1Pe_1:21 the truth: Joh_1:14, Joh_1:17, Joh_8:32, Joh_15:1, Joh_18:37; Rom_15:8, Rom_15:9; 2Co_1:19, 2Co_1:20; Col_2:9, Col_2:17; 1Jo_1:8, 1Jo_5:6, 1Jo_5:20; Rev_1:5, Rev_3:7, Rev_3:14, Rev_19:11 the life: Joh_14:19, Joh_1:4, Joh_5:21, Joh_5:25-29, Joh_6:33, Joh_6:51, Joh_6:57, Joh_6:68, Joh_8:51, Joh_10:28, Joh_11:25, Joh_11:26, Joh_17:2, Joh_17:3; Act_3:15; Rom_5:21; 1Co_15:45; Col_3:4; 1Jo_1:1, 1Jo_1:2, 1Jo_5:11, 1Jo_5:12; Rev_22:1, Rev_22:17 no: Joh_10:7, Joh_10:9; Act_4:12; Rom_15:16; 1Pe_2:4, 1Pe_3:18; 1Jo_2:23; 2Jo_1:9; Rev_5:8, Rev_5:9; Rev_7:9-17, Rev_13:7, Rev_13:8, Rev_20:15 Temple of Spirit & Truth MinistriesA.R.Smith Ministrieshttp://www.ourchurch.com/member/a/arsmithsermons/ Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Anthony_Smith http://EzineArticles.com/?The-Way,-The-Truth-and-The-Life—pt.1&id=246933 ambien buy ativan benefits ambien online without prescription cheap online zolpidem

How To Do Calorie Counting The Right Way

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

By Jed Baguio Losing fat and staying in great shape is a difficult task since it is so hard to stay motivated and so tempting to cheat. For dieters like us, there is a constant battle between emotion and reason and when hungry, reason is out of the window and emotion just wins. We do not see the immediate effects of our behavior and therefore our brain is fooled into thinking that everything is all right. On the other hand, lets say you would get very sick when eating more than you need, overeating would stop very quickly. We need to show this in a factual manner like an immediate visual display of the results of our cheating. This will help us to start to understand why we dont lose weight and can pinpoint the causes. First is a chart. In this chart, I would like to see over a period of time the average calories I take per day compared with the average calories that I burn per day. This can determine the intake calories lower than the burned calories and I will lose weight or vice versa I will gain weight. Correlate that with your weight or BMI (Body Mass Index) over time and having the tool that helps regulate my food consumption versus my daily activities. I can fine tune my meal plans and daily activities if I add my hunger levels before and after the meals. This can sustain my dieting for a long time and it will become my way of life. I have minimized the hunger pain and increase the pleasure of losing weight and feeling more attractive. Free online food calorie calculators are available anywhere. It just display nutrition facts and are not going to help you lose weight. These are simple little gimmicks that are a waste of your time. If you seriously track and correlate your calorie intake and calories burned over time, depending on your age, weight, gender, height and individual activity intensity levels can precisely measure your calorie balance. You can also see immediately when you are off track and you can adjust your situation accordingly. Great health is a complex task. Diet, nutritional facts, meal plans, calorie balance, body reading measurements, supplement and medicine intake, exercise routines, daily activity intensity and costs will make it very difficult for you to see the forest for the trees. Managing your health, fitness, weight loss, muscle mass gain or any goal you have set can be very easy if there is well designed software that keeps track of all of the above factors and can correlate them. A Spiritual View of Depression: The Light That Shines in the Darkness

Monday, February 18th, 2008

By Julie Redstone The origin of depression may not be visible at all on an outer level where wealth, family, relationships, and success may all be in place and operating as signs and symbols of a successful life. Yet on an inner level, the inner being can feel bereft of that which feels necessary to life. It is this sense of being bereft - of having lost, mislaid, or had taken away that which was the source of hope and of vitality - that gives rise to depression. This is not to say that there is not a biochemical component to the picture as well. Only, that biochemistry is influenced by the underlying state of consciousness and the energy that it creates, even more than consciousness is influenced by biochemistry. The consciousness that underlies depression has become more widespread today. At the root of this phenomenon is the presence of purification on both individual and global levels. Whether applying to an individual or to the earth itself, it is this force, more than any other, that is behind the manifestation, today, of the ‘darkness that covers the light’. Purification is based on the greater presence of spiritual light which separates light from darkness, bringing all that is not light into awareness for purposes of release and healing. Global purification brings to the fore what has previously lain dormant within collective consciousness that is not of the light. It does the same within individuals. In this way, anger, hate, cruelty and fear can be felt more acutely within the consciousness of many, as can the sense of inner emptiness and loss. It is particularly in relation to the latter that we see an upsurge of depressive feeling-states today and a growing number of requests for help. On a large scale, the feeling of inner lack is being brought to the foreground so that it may be directly addressed and healed. That this is true is both the discomfort of purification and also its promise a promise which seeks to liberate humanity from darkness, yet which, in the process, requires of us that we experience what has formerly been kept hidden. In relation to depression, at its root is often the feeling of separation, lack, or void, and a sense of helplessness in relation to filling this void. This is the underlying consciousness that manifests as sorrow, hopelessness, despair, numbness, and withdrawal. The emptiness is felt by the deeper self that is hungry for light and truth that is hungry for a source of meaning - that is hungry for a source of light to banish the darkness within the self and within the world. Both upon the earth and within individuals, this darkness is very prominent now, and it gives rise much more quickly to feelings of depression than in times past. The capacity of darkness to create a ‘cover’ over light is what creates the sense of void or emptiness. Though light always remains present within each individual being, darkness obscures the inner connection with the heart and with the source of being so that this light cannot be felt. It also effectively creates a shallowness of perception in which nothing may seem quite real, and nothing that is joyful can touch or impact the self in a deep way. In contrast to the above, and in the presence of darkness, there is also a growing presence of light arising, emerging from beneath the covering and pushing its way through the layers of darkness as it strives to reach awareness. This light is increasingly infusing the physical plane and has a direct effect on each human body that is present on the earth. Though at first it may appear to bring into awareness that which is lacking, it also brings with it a way through the lack, toward hope and toward the light of being toward the recognition of one’s God-self that is the core level of each and every child of God. This core is both an identity and a source of love and joy. Though the light that shines in the darkness may be invisible for the moment, it is nevertheless doing its work so that the covering of darkness can lift and the true measure of who one is and what life is can be perceived. In relation to this light, its presence cannot be undone. Its arrival cannot be prevented. It is a matter of waiting during this difficult period for the light to arrive more fully, and in the meantime, of anchoring the heart in the Source of light so that even under cover of darkness, its gifts and blessings may be received most abundantly. Cardio Tips & Tricks for Fat Loss

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

By Craig Ballantyne Tom Venuto is an NSCA-certified strength and conditioning specialist, lifetime natural bodybuilder, freelance writer, and personal coach. Today, I interview Tom about how we can get more fat loss results in less training time. Craig B.: Tom, youve written about the “Risk to benefit ratios of extreme and controversial fat loss techniques. Have your thoughts changed on any of the rankings since you wrote that article? Tom Venuto: That article pretty much sums up my current thoughts about fat loss. The article looked at techniques for fat loss that are controversial, like not eating for 2-3 hours before going to bed or not eating carbs after a certain time of day, or doing early morning cardio on an empty stomach. Some experts recommend these methods; others strongly recommend avoiding them. Some say they work well; others say they dont work at all. The main message I wanted to get across is that when you generalize by saying things like, This technique is good, that technique is bad, or never do this, always do that, youre limiting yourself. I believe in the philosophy that the person who has the most flexibility and the most choices is the person with the most power to get results and to break past barriers (which unfortunately, are often self-imposed by all or none thinking). Instead of making generalizations, I prefer to approach training and nutrition from the viewpoint of personalization and risks versus benefits. If you think about it, all exercise has risks. Squatting has risks. Running has risks. Competing in sports has risks. You cant avoid risks. Heck, being alive has risks! The idea is to manage risks, not to try and eliminate them. Take fasted cardio in the morning for example. Are there risks in using this technique in an attempt to accelerate fat loss? Yes, absolutely. Cortisol is higher in the morning, so you are more catabolic and you might lose muscle. Does that mean there are no benefits and you should never use this technique? Not necessarily. Does doing cardio on an empty stomach guarantee youre going to lose muscle? No, it only increases the possibility. Yet many trainers, strength coaches, athletes and bodybuilders approach techniques like these with Its good or Its bad with no shades of grey in between. The truth is, the value of each technique depends very much on the context. I remember reading something Charles Poliquin wrote about how ridiculous it was to think about his manly men athletes (as he called them), such as a 6 foot 5 inch 250 pound hockey player, doing any kind of conventional aerobics. That makes complete sense to me - in that context. If the athlete shows up after the off season carrying some undesired body fat, that weight can easily be shed with strength training and nutrition. Combine that with energy expended from practice time and no aerobics are necessary. But does that mean All aerobics are bad or Cardio is completely worthless. Well, again, it depends on the context. Bad or worthless when? How much? How intense? What kind? Under what circumstances? And for whom? Are we talking about a 55 year old sedentary woman with 35% body fat, an elite shot putter or a bodybuilder six weeks out from a competition? I think these rigid all or none beliefs get formed gradually over a whole lifetime of experiences. We tend to collect our own personal biases and carry them along with us I know I had to overcome my pure bodybuilder mentality and develop more flexibility in my approaches in order to really serve my non-bodybuilder clients the best. I specialize in fat loss including nutrition, exercise and the psychological/emotional aspects - and my personal interest is bodybuilding. I dont train people for sports, so I dont have the perspective that most strength coaches do. Similarly, I imagine that many top strength coaches have developed an anti-cardio bias from their experience working with power, speed and strength athletes who have always been told that aerobics kills your strength, and perhaps they generalize their beliefs to apply to everyone. Bottom line and the whole point of my article was that there are no absolutes, everything is context dependent. CB: You rank fasted cardio in the morning as a high risk, high benefit activity for fat loss. Is this something that you use yourself or with clients? TV: Because its high risk, its not necessarily a fat loss technique I recommend for everyone all the time. But Im not afraid to use it and I believe it has benefits that can outweigh the risks, depending on the circumstances. I usually do fasted cardio in the morning about 8-12 weeks before a competition. But it depends on my weekly results. If Im losing fat quickly and easily, I dont need to use any high-risk techniques. Sometimes Ill still do cardio in the morning, because I like doing it then, but Ill have a whey protein drink or even a whole meal shortly beforehand. I like to have an enormous amount of flexibility in my approach. If theres a plateau in fat loss, I want to be able to dig into my bag of tricks and have a lot of stuff in there to pull out when I need it. If you only have one way and you get stuck, you have a problem. I dont like rigid formulas. I like freedom to choose my approach according to how things are going. The Calling of God

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

By Mark E. Baker Romans 11:29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. Before the world was created God knew each one of us, and had preordained us to good works. Good works of course are the things He wants us to accomplish while we are here on the Earth. He has called us and equipped each of us to fulfill the things He has predestined for us. Whether we use our giftings for His glory, and to fulfill His will is our choice and our choice alone. We will never be forced or pushed, yet He will never take these gifts from us. We are all born into this world unique, no two of us are exactly the same. Although we may share certain qualities and features with others, we still have a unique set of talents and abilities. With God’s given talents and abilities and by the leading of the Holy Spirit, we can fulfill our destiny. If we dont, we really have no one to blame but ourselves. Many get sidetracked or discouraged and fall from their true purpose. There are so many reasons for this, everything from bad life choices to out and out disobedience. We cant undo the past but we can start right now to walk in the gifts and calling of God. I know what its like to get side tracked and become discouraged, and loose my way on lifes journey. However, I have found that when I truly turned back to Him, and gave myself over to Him, that all was not lost as the devil had made me believe. I had lost my purpose for a time, yet God restored my dream and gave me a vision. His Word saysProverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. One translation says; Where there is no revelation. This is a way of saying you have to have clear insight of what God has for your life. You have to have a clear vision of your purpose if you are ever going to fulfill your calling, and become what God has called you to be. If you dont have a clear vision, you wont know where you are to go. There are many within the body of Christ like this, they just exist. They are just there. They have no clear vision of what they are to accomplish. They may have individual goals but this does not mean that they know Gods purpose for their life, or that their goals are in line with Gods goals for their life. If you dont know your destiny, how will you ever fulfil it? You may say, what are you talking about. Im saying that if you are wanting to get to point B from point A and you dont know where point B is then you will never arrive. You have to have clear direction and know where the Lord is taking you if you are ever to arrive. This does not mean you will know every detail of the journey. We walk by faith and not by sight. We walk one day at a time. When God want us to do something different or go on from where we are currently, He will tell us. When He tells you to do something keep doing it until He gives you other instructions. You can go by what He doesnt say many times by as much as what He does say. We all have choices to make in life, school, career, marriage, where we live, and so on.Many times people let their emotions lead them, and allow their feelings to dictate what they are to do. We have all seen it. This is not the leading of the Holy Spirit. This is usually a fleshly reaction to circumstances that leads to walking by sight and not by faith. This is often a result of we ourselves seeking to fulfill our own goals and ambitions. Im certainly not saying it is wrong to have goals or be ambitious, I am saying we should have our goals in line with Gods will. God will give His children clear direction. The Word tells us, For as many as are led by the Spirit of God they are the sons of God. (Rom:8:14)He will lead us by His Spirit. He could not hold us accountable for our actions if He gave us no clear direction could He? Yet we have a part to play in this, we have to avail ourselves of Him. We have to spend time in prayer and spend time in His presence, if we are ever going to hear Him. This is the first step we all must take before we step out and go. You have to know where you are going. After we have direction, we have to have prepare ourselves. There is a time of preparation and study. Ive heard it said that God doesnt call the equipped, He equips the called. God will not tell us to go if we have not been equipped to go. In other words, He will equip you before He sends you. He doesnt send babies out to do battle, He sends mature men and women of God. There will always be a time of learning and development. Take advantage of your time and learn from your Pastor and elders, those who have care over your soul. Listen to them! He will teach you and instruct you, and as you grow in grace and understanding, He will give you more revelation. We all have to start at the beginning; there are no short cuts in the kingdom of God. Revelation builds upon itself. God can not reveal the deep truths if you can not grasp the basics can He. Its not that He doesnt want us to understand, it is that we can not receive more until we have received little, and been obedient with what we already have. He just doesnt work that way. I believe that He keeps things from us knowing full well that we just couldnt handle more in our present babyhood state. We get in a hurry sometimes and just want it all thinking we could handle it when we really could not. The end would be disastrous for us. Our Father loves us too much for that. It is no different with earthly parents raising children. A loving parent would not make a child responsible for something that requires a much greater level of experience and understanding. You would not tell a 6-year-old to get in the car, drive to the grocery store, and buy the groceries for the week would you? I realize this may sound funny, yet many Christians do the same types of things. They get full of zeal and feel that they can just go out and fulfill their calling without putting in the time to learn, and gain the necessary experience that it takes to be successful. God doesnt call babies into battle any more than we would tell a toddler to go out and cut the grass. When my son was about 4 years old, he used to follow me around the yard with a toy lawnmower and pretend he was cutting the grass. The reality was that he wasnt accomplishing as much as he really thought he was. Although I look back on those times with fondness, as a loving father I would have never given him the real responsibility of cutting the grass. It would have been an extremely unsafe situation for him, not to mention he just could not have handled it. It was quite a few years before he really was able to cut the grass on his own. By that time, I dont think he thought it was as much fun as it used to be. Our Heavenly Father knows what we can accomplish and what we cannot. Sometimes we just need to be realistic about where we are in our faith walk before we can go on to the next level. He gives us what we can handle and are willing to walk in. Its our part to be willing and receptive when that happens. We often think we are waiting on God when the truth is, He is waiting on us. It takes a certain level of faith to even receive our calling, and begin to walk in it. If you were to receive your calling as a young immature Christian, you would most likely to be overwhelmed and get discouraged. Growth and development is a natural process, and it is no different in the spiritual realm. We have to grow before we can go. It was no different with our Lord. The Word says And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. (Luke 2:52) In order to fulfill the plan of God Jesus had to increase in wisdom and stature. In other words, He had to grow up in the things of God as well as the things of the world. The Apostle Paul says this that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness by which they lie in wait to deceive, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head Christ. (Ephesians 4:14) There is a purpose for our growth. God wants us to succeed, and we have to be mature and fully equipped in order to accomplish His perfect will. Some people think of this as drudgery, yet it is an honor to fulfill the calling of God. There is no more miserable Christian than one who has walked away from his or her God given purpose. Regardless of what your calling is, you will never be truly happy until you realize it, and begin to walk in it. Regardless of whether or not you feel like you are important or not, there are no unimportant parts within the body of Christ!  Each part of the body must do their part or the whole body suffers collectively.  If the body is healthy we all benefit collectively.  The part that you might think is unimportant might be the part that supplies the very thing that you need to function at your best. It takes the whole body functioning in harmony to be healthy. I would like to leave with three Scriptures written by three Apostles as an admonishment. 1 Peter 1:17 And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your sojourning here in fear; Take advantage of your time, you only have it once. Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. 1 John 3:11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Do you want to be a joint heir with Christ? If so, I urge you to earnestly pray the following prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. Your word says, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. (Jn.6:37), So I know You wont cast me out, but You take me in, And I thank you for it. You said in your Word, “whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Ro. 10:13). I am calling on Your name, So I know You have saved me now, You also said, that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. (Ro.10:9,10). I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe He was raised from the dead for my justification. And I confess Him now as my Lord, Because Your Word says, with the heart one believes to righteousness and I do believe with my heart, I have now become the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Cor. 5:21), And I am saved! Thank You, Lord!I can now truthfully say, I see myself as a born again child of God!Glory to God!!!! Amen. I was raised Catholic, and was born again at the age of 17. I received God’s call into ministry at the age of 19 and began to prepare for ministry. I graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in 1979. The Lord has called me to teach. My desire is to help all that are seeking to come into a deeper understanding of what God has done for us through Christ Jesus and I have started a web site for this purpose called The Olive Branch; Please visit us for more free studies and resources to help you on your journey.
